MCDONOUGH CO. (NEWS3) — The McDonough County Sheriff’s Department announces the arrests of seven people after a six-month investigation into selling methamphetamine in the county.
McDonough County Sheriff Nick Petitgout said the Macomb and Bushnell Police Departments found John Yates, 53, at 612 N. Harrison Street in Bushnell on Wednesday. Yates was wanted on a warrant for delivery of meth. He is currently in the McDonough County jail with bond set at $50,000.
Petitgout said on the same day, Trenton Sealock, 25, was found at 1230 W. Main St. Apt. 4 in Bushnell. Sealock was also wanted on a warrant in the county for delivery of meth. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia.
Sealock is currently in the McDonough County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
Police later searched the residence of 1230 West Main St. and found methamphetamine and paraphernalia which led to the arrests of Robert Musson, 39; Christopher Shipley, 23; and Heather Hawkins-Barcroft, 33, all of Bushnell. The three were charged with possession of methamphetamine under 5 grams and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia. All are currently in the McDonough County Jail pending bond.
Also in the press release, Petitgout said Shawn Connelly, 45, was found at 210 South Race St. in Bardolph. Connelly was wanted on a warrant in the county for delivery of meth. He is currently in the McDonough County Jail with bond set at $100,000. While searching the residence, police found a small cannabis growing operation which led to the arrest of Amanda Edwards, 40. Edwards and Connelly were charged with cannabis plant cultivation of 6-20 plants, possession of meth under 5 grams and methamphetamine paraphernalia.
Petitgout said police expect more arrests in the coming months after this investigation.
Both the Macomb Police Chief and the McDonough County Sheriff said they would like to stress the importance of ridding the community of this dangerous drug.
