MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) – Western Illinois University Professor Tim Waldrop’s solo exhibition, “Close to Home,” is now on display in the WIU Art Gallery.
“Everything kinda ties together, and the title, ‘Close to Home,’ it’s a sort of mixture of back home from the coast and home here,” Waldrop said.
Waldrop also describes his work for this show as deeply personal. He collaged together elements from different stages of his life. He said he experiments with different imagery from throughout his life during the creative process to represent his memories and the passage of time.
“I have these images I keep going back to and just try putting them together in different ways,” Waldrop said.
“Close to Home” will remain on display through March 24, with a reception to be held on March 7 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Waldrop will speak on his work at 5 p.m.
Admission to the exhibition is free. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
