The Macomb City Council approved Larry A’s Pizza for a liquor license at a Monday night meeting. The approval also includes Sunday sales. It was noted that throughout the process, not a single negative statement or objection was heard from the public. Larry A’s was determined as having all appropriate paperwork in, and the restaurant should have its license on Tuesday, after all city council paperwork is complete.
The City Council also made a final vote regarding whether to allow a fraternity house to be established at 901 West Carroll Street. The ordinance was denied by a vote of six to one. The Planning Commission had previously denied the request seven to zero after many neighbors voiced their concerns. No members of the fraternity were present at Monday night’s meeting.
