Another Women’s Soccer Season in the Books

Macomb IL- Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks hand concluded their season going 4-10-3 and 2-7 in conference.

The 2 wins the Leathernecks got was from a 2-to-0 win over the Kansas City Roos. The second win came from a 3-to-1 win over the St. Thomas Tommies on senior day.

A Notable player we should highlight is Amy Anderws (7). Graduate student from Birmingham, England. Andrews led the team in scoring with eight goals and 34 goals throughout her career.

Andrews had also led the team in points with 17.

Emmy Ellington is another player who had a fantastic season and will be looking to be the leader for the Leathernecks next season.

Ellington scored two goals and 13 points this season. 

Angie Knies had a strong finish to the season scoring three goals in the last four games. Two of them were from Senior day against the Tommies.

While the Leathernecks missed the playoffs and lost one of their best players on the team, the Necks’ look to upcoming seniors and Juniors as they will be the new leaders for this team.
