Severe cold and wind chills expected this weekend

By CAYSON FRERICHS, Weather Anchor

Cold temperatures continue to sweep through the area with the coldest days expected over the weekend. Saturday and Sunday night temperatures could reach as low as 10 degrees below zero.

Winds out of the north at 10 to 20 MPH could make the wind chill feel 10 to 20 degrees colder than the actual temperature.

Snow chances are also in the forecast. Some snow showers could take place Saturday morning and in the afternoon on Monday.

With extremely cold temperatures and wind chills, frostbite can occur on exposed skin anywhere between 10 to 12 minutes. Also, make sure you are keeping track of pets and limiting their exposure outside.
