MACOMB, Illinois — The Crossing Food Pantry is encouraging all Macomb community members to visit if in need of food assistance.

In McDonough County, nearly 4,000 residents currently struggle with food insecurity. The Crossing hopes to alleviate this problem by offering weekly access to their food pantry.

Grocery pickup is available from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Thursday. Operator Mitch Kessler said they try to include a variety of fresh items and snacks in each package.

The Crossing Food Pantry is located at 1600 W. Jackson St. All are welcome to visit, including WIU students.

If you would like to support The Crossing Food Pantry, please consider donating common household supplies and foods, or call 309-836-7870 to ask about volunteering.
