Hazardous, severe weather expected in region

MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS) – Western Illinois University sent out a release on Friday, March 31, that stated that the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Western Illinois University region, including portions of north central Illinois, northwest Illinois, west central Illinois, east central Iowa, northeast Iowa, southeast Iowa and northeast Missouri.

According to the release, WIU will remain open, but outdoor activities and events have been canceled for March 31. The Storm Prediction Center has a Moderate Risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
