Gorsuch named new multicultural director

MACOMB, Illinois – Katy Gorsuch, who is currently the Western Illinois University Associate Director of Recruitment and Outreach, has been named the director of the Multicultural Center. Her new role will begin on Monday, March 20.

At WIU, Gorsuch has previously served as assistant director of Campus Events, and as an admissions counselor. Gorsuch received a master’s degree in Educational and Interdisciplinary Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish, both from WIU.

The director of the Multicultural Center at WIU will set goals and create a strategic plan for the center, as well as provide oversight for the administration and assessment of programming and supervise staff. Services are offered by the center.

Gorsuch will collaborate with various departments on social justice initiatives on campus. The position reports to the vice president of student success.
