MACOMB, Illinois – The Campus Race to Zero Waste competition, formerly known as Recyclemania, returned to Western Illinois University Jan. 30, and will continue until March 26.
Campuses across the country will compete during the eight-week period to collect the most recyclables in an effort to raise awareness and encourage students to recycle.
WIU has been participating in the competition since 2006.
While many of the activities used to be in-person, Hughes wants students to be aware that they are open to hybrid or virtual activities to get students, organizations and the campus community as a whole involved in recycling and in Campus Race to Zero Waste.
