MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) – The Western Illinois University Office of Financial Assistance is offering virtual office hours for those who may need help filling out their FAFSA or may have any other financial aid-related questions.

“I don’t think the FAFSA is complicated, but sometimes the questions can be a little misleading,” said Bobby Smith, Director of Financial Aid at WIU.

“We set up these workshops to help students, so they only have to do it once; they get it right the first time,” she said.

These workshops are not limited to FAFSA-related questions only.

“We will also help students complete verification, we will help them complete their payment plans,” Smith said. “So really these workshops are an extensions of our normal business operations just for students who cannot reach us during normal business hours.”

The financial aid virtual office hours are from 5-7 p.m. Every Monday, the school is in session for the spring semester, and no appointment is necessary to join any of these events.
