MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) — Western Illinois University and head football coach Jared Elliott have mutually agreed to part ways.
The university’s athletic department announced the move on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Elliott came to WIU in 2012 before being named head coach in 2018. Elliott’s winningest season was his first, in 2018 with a 5-6 record.
During Elliott’s tenure he coached nine All-Missouri Valley Conference players, including Khalen Saunders, a current NFL player and Super Bowl champion.
With a career win-loss record of 9-30, Elliott’s final game comes on Nov. 20 against the University of Northern Iowa.
