‘Songs For A New World’ opening at WIU theater

MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) – Western Illinois University’s Theatre and Dance Department will be performing the musical, Songs For A New World from Oct. 27-31.

The musical was written and composed by Tony Award  winner Jason Robert Brown.

“Any chance to get away from the chaos of it [the real world], I know I like to experience that. To shut off for a little bit and come enjoy a piece of theatre,” director Lysa Fox said. 

Songs For A New World opens in Horrabin Hall. Tickets need to be reserved in the Hainline Box Office in Browne Hall. Tickets are free for students with a WIU D. and $15 for general admission.

Showtimes Wednesday through Saturday are at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, the show will begin at 2 p.m.
