MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) — The Western Illinois Recreation Center is looking for students to join intramural sports.
“Come out and participate, it’s a lot of fun, it’s free,” WIU intramural sports graduate assistant Colton Spaur said.
Spaur said participating in intramural sports is a great way to stay active and a great way to meet new people and make new friends.
“I think that intramurals offer students a way to engage with other students and meet new people, a great way to stay active, if you are looking for that,” Spaur said. “A lot of great benefits there.”
The campus rec center offers a wide variety of intramural options. The center has a fall sport schedule and a spring sport schedule. Spaur said some intramural sports are played during both semesters.
“Some we offer in both the fall and the spring,” he said. “Some like basketball that we offer twice in the fall and we will also offer it in the spring.
