MACOMB, Illinois – Western Illinois University’s College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) is kicking off fall with a series of events throughout the month of October.
There will be a mix of indoor and outdoor performances from the Music and Theatre & Dance departments.
WIU’s Jazz Band will play a pop-up concert on Oct. 1 outside Browne Hall, and a Jazz Showcase Concert on Oct. 12 in the COFAC Recital Hall.
Theatre and dance performances include “Radium Girls” at the Hainline Theatre from Oct. 2-3, “Revolutionist” at the Simpkins Theatre from Oct. 15-16, and “Songs for a New World” from Oct. 27-31. These performances are free to WIU students.
Other concerts, to be held in the COFAC Recital Hall, include an orchestra concert on Oct. 1, faculty concerts on Oct. 6, 10 and 13, a band concert on Oct. 20 and the fall choral concert on Oct. 22. There is also a special “OcTUBAfest” recital on Oct. 27.
Anyone attending the indoor performances must follow COVID-19 protocols such as social distancing, wearing face coverings and providing necessary information to assist with contact tracing.
