MACOMB, Illinois — Timothy E. Wagner, 61, has been charged with attempted murder for a stabbing incident that occurred on Monday, Sept. 6, according to the Macomb Police Department.
According to the MPD, the female victim was stabbed more than 30 times at a residence, 714 N. Campbell Street, and was transported to a trauma center for treatment. Wagner was arrested at the residence at the time of the incident and taken to the McDonough County Jail. The McDonough County States Attorney’s Office confirmed that Wagner has an additional charge of domestic battery.
Th MPD received a call regarding a domestic dispute at around 9:59 p.m. on Monday. According to central dispatch a female could be heard screaming “help me” during the call. When the officers arrived the female victim was lying on the ground with multiple injuries. She reported to officers that Wagner had pulled a knife on her, the knife was located near the victim.
