New WIU president discusses plans, challenges

MACOMB, Illinois (NEWS3) — The new Western Illinois University president is speaking for the first time about his plans since being appointed Nov. 16.

Dr. Guiyou Huang sat down with NEWS3’s Devin Brooks in his first TV interview a day after being named the 12th president at WIU on Nov. 16. 

In the full interview above, Huang discusses what areas he will focus on improving at WIU and how he will approach challenges facing the university.

Huang starts Jan. 1, 2021.
