Macomb man arrested for crack cocaine; twice in 4 months

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Macomb Police arrested a man for manufacture and delivery of crack cocaine over the weekend.

Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker said Tavarius Payne, 32, of Macomb was arrested Friday after police obtained a search warrant on his residence.

Barker said The Macomb/McDonough County Drug Unit were investigating Payne’s residence for two weeks for crack cocaine being distributed in Macomb.

Payne was arrested back in October after police found cocaine and crack cocaine during a traffic stop. The traffic stop came after a month long investigation of Payne. He was charged with four counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

This time, Payne was charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a controlled substance. He is currently in the McDonough County Jail with bond set at $75,000.
