Local organization offers training for crisis intervention

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) –A crisis intervention training course will soon be offered at Western Illinois Regional Council (WIRC) in Macomb.

The course is open to anyone interested in working with domestic or sexual violence survivors. It also provides training that is required to work or volunteer at any Illinois domestic or sexual violence agency. Classes will be taught by WIRC staff members who work directly with victims and their families.

The course begins on Feb. 25 and will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. until March 31. The cost to register is $100 for students and community members, and $150 for professionals. The deadline to sign up for the program is Feb. 20 at noon.
