Flu prompts Bushnell-Prairie City Schools to cancel classes

BUSHNELL, Ill. (NEWS3) — Bushnell-Prairie City Schools announced Wednesday night, all schools and offices will be closed the rest of the week.

The announcement comes after officials said a large number of staff and students were experiencing illnesses of flu-like symptoms and confirmed cases of the flu.  Officials said this has led to excessive absences within the district.

School officials said extracurricular events scheduled through Saturday are also canceled and will be rescheduled.

Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 21.
