Police: WIU student discovers ketchup and sugar in gas tank

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Western Illinois University’s Office of Public Safety is investigating a report of car vandalism costing hundreds of dollars in damage.

OPS said a student reported Friday around 3:30 p.m. that someone had placed ketchup and sugar in his vehicle’s gas tank.

OPS said the vehicle was parked in the Corbin Hall parking lot.

OPS estimates the damage to cost more than $500.

Police are still investigating the incident.

WIU officials did not release any other information.
