Two Galesburg men issued multiple charges following search warrant

GALESBURG, Ill. (NEWS3) — Two Galesburg residents were arrested early Sunday after police found drugs, weapons and stolen items during a search warrant.

The Galesburg Police Department obtained and executed a search warrant for the unattached garage located at 482 N Cedar St. a little after 6 a.m.

Gilbert D. Bicknell, 51, and Jay A. Murdock, 44, were arrested after police located crystal methamphetamine, heroin, firearms/ammunition, weapons and stolen items.

Bicknell was charged with criminal fortification of a residence/building, felon in possession of Weapon/firearm, Meth delivery/intent to deliver 5-15 grams, manufacturing/delivering Heroin less than 1 gram, theft/unauthorized control of stolen property less than $500, possession of drug paraphernalia and for a warrant out of Knox County.

Murdock was charged with obstructing justice and for outstanding Mercer and Knox County warrants.

Both subjects remain in the Knox County Jail awaiting an initial court appearance.
