Weather looks to bring snow, cold temperatures

(NEWS3) — The next few days look to be very wet and cold for the NEWS3 viewing area.

A cold front will move in overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. This will bring a lot of rain and the potential to give us our first snow accumulation this fall. Low temperatures will be around 31 degrees Tuesday night. It’s uncertain whether it will be cold enough for any accumulation.

Late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning is when we could see the snow threat return. Temperatures will be right around freezing again Wednesday night through Thursday night. Wednesday’s low will get down to 29 degrees and Thursday’s low will be 19 degrees.

The rapid drop in temperature could allow the precipitation on Wednesday into Thursday to turn into snow.
The amount of snow accumulations are still uncertain at this point.
NEWS3 will continue to monitor the weather systems as they begin to move through the area. Storm Team 3’s Jared Streder will have the latest on NEWS3 Live at 4 on Tuesday.
