Three local men sent to prison for meth charges

MCDONOUGH COUNTY, Ill. (NEWS3) — Three local men were sentenced to more than 10 years in federal prison for drug charges.

According to the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office, Levi J. Sloan, 23, of Bushnell, Donald E. Graham, 48, of Bushnell, and James A. Newman, 30, of Dallas City, Ill. were indicted in the United States District Court Central District of Illinois Rock Island for distributing methamphetamine throughout several counties in West Central Illinois on Oct. 24, 2018.

On Oct. 17, Sloan was sentenced to serve 11 years and 7 months, Grahams was sentenced to serve 12 years and 6 months and Newman was sentenced to serve 10 years and 6 months in the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The Macomb/McDonough County Drug Task Force was assisted by the D.E.A., West Central Illinois Task Force, Galesburg Police Department, Monmouth Police Department, Burlington Iowa Police Department, Warren County Sherriff’s Office, Fulton County Sherriff’s Office, Mercer County Sherriff’s Office and the Hancock County Sherriff’s Office.
