MCDONOUGH COUNTY, Ill. (NEWS3) — Two people were arrested on drug charges Monday evening near Macomb.
Michael Barger, 47, of Galesburg, and Amie Schmitz, 45, of Fort Madison, were located in their vehicle on North 1400th Road where they told deputies they had run out of gas. Police requested assistance from Macomb Police K9 Mac after noticing erratic behavior by the individuals.
Barger is charged with No Valid Driver’s License and Possession of Methamphetamine under 5 grams. Schmitz is charged with Methamphetamine under 5 grams, Possession of Hypodermic Needles and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both subjects were lodged in the McDonough County Jail with bail set at $5,000 each.
