Galesburg pedestrian struck by train

GALESBURG, Ill. (NEWS3) — A Galesburg resident has died after being struck by a train Monday night.

Police said Carrie Louis Miller, 40,  was found dead on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) tacks at Ella and N. Pearl Street.

The call came in just before 8:30 p.m. Monday night for a pedestrian struck by a train on E. North and N. Chambers Streets. A witness told police the accident occurred at the BNSF tracks at Ella and N. Pearl Street.

Police said it appears Miller was crossing the tracks between cars when the train began moving. This is an ongoing investigation.
