WIU holding safe trick-or-treating event

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Western Illinois University is once again offering a safe, fun and free Halloween event for kids.

University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) is sponsoring the annual Residence Halls Safe Trick-or-Treat Program on Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m.

Children ages 2-12, accompanied by a parent or guardian, are welcome to be guided through the residence halls for trick-or-treating and games/activities. The WIU Office of Public Safety and Western Emergency Medical Services will be present to engage with the children.

Attendees can park in the vacant lots surrounding Corbin-Olson and enter the event through the main doors on the east side of the building.

Additionally, the WIU Resident Assistant Council is holding “Haunted Housing,” which is also suitable for younger children. This event is Oct. 25 from 7-8 p.m. in Thompson Hall.
