MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — A local wine business in Macomb is changing owners.
Dave and Stacey Dorsett have been the owners of The Wine Sellers, located on the south side of the downtown Macomb square, for 15 years.
At the beginning of October, The Wine Sellers posted on Facebook about a change in ownership.
Starting Nov. 1, Craig and Juliana Burns will be the new owners of the full-service wine bar.
“They (The Burns) are starting out the same way we did,” Dave Dorsett said. “I think it’s a pretty healthy beginning and I’m sure they’ll have a very good time with this store.”
The Burns have lived in Macomb since 1994.
“For the past five or six years we’ve been coming in here (The Wine Sellers) on Friday nights to have a couple of drinks after work,” Craig Burns said. “We’ve gotten to know the clientele and we’ve made some really good friends here. It just seemed like a logical step for us.”
Burns said it has been a long process with other financial obligations coming up including moving properties around.
“Here in the last six to eight weeks it has really started coming together,” Burns said.
The new owners will take over within the next two weeks.
