Leathernecks fail to secure first win in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (NEWS3) — Western Illinois University men’s soccer on Saturday went on the road and lost 2-0 to the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The Leathernecks (0-7-0) recorded nine shots, but only one on goal.

WIU goalkeeper Tim Trilk is now 10th in program history in saves. He made his 158th save in the 31st minute, passing Chris Davenport (1988-90).

The Roos (1-3-0) notched their first victory of the season thanks to goals by Aiden Cavanaugh (23′) and Giacomo Caruso (84′).

The Leathernecks will look to record their first win of the season against Missouri State at home on Thursday at 4 p.m.
