Cookeville, Ten (NEWS3) — The Western Illinois volleyball team is headed to Cookeville, Tennessee this weekend to play in the Golden Eagle Invitation at Tennessee Tech.
WIU will play three games throughout the invitational. First match will be against the host, Tennessee Tech (2-8) at 12 p.m. on Friday. The women will then play two games on Saturday, the first at 12:30 p.m. against Southern Illinois University (6-5), and another at 5 p.m. against Middle Tennessee State (3-7).
The Leathernecks enter the tournament with a 3-7 record after losing all three matches at the Wright State Invitational last weekend in Dayton, Ohio.
WIU junior Mackenzie Steckler is headed into the tournament with a total of 66 blocks on the season, a season-high for the team.
This is the final non-conference tournament before conference play starts on Tuesday in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Purdue Fort Wayne.
