MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — A 17-year-old was arrested early Sunday morning in Macomb, Ill. after a report of a Western Illinois University student being threatened with a weapon.
In an email notifying the campus community, it stated that a female student was allegedly battered by the offender and threatened with an air soft/BB gun in Thompson Hall. The offender, who was known to her, fled the scene and was arrested by the Office of Public Safety shortly after 1 a.m.
The offender was transported to a juvenile detention facility in Galesburg. The juvenile is not a WIU student.
