Crash in Monmouth sends 3 people to hospital

MONMOUTH, Ill. (NEWS3) — Three people were hurt after a two-vehicle crash late Saturday night in Warren County.

According to Illinois State Police, John and Debra Lozier, both 61, of Monmouth, were driving southbound on South Main Street at 180th Avenue in Monmouth shortly after 10:30 p.m. when Robert Burgess, 41, of Abingdon, did not stop at a stop sign. Burgess’ 2018 Alfa Romeo sedan hit the Lozier’s 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe on the passenger side, causing it to overturn.

John and Debra Lozier were taken to Holy Family Medical Center and Burgess was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, all with non-life threating injuries, according to police.

Police said everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Charges are pending.
