WIU Food Pantry releases Fall 2019 schedule

MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3)- The Western Illinois University Food Pantry said they are expanded hours for students, faculty, and staff to stop by and pick up free non-perishable food items this Saturday.

Starting Saturday, Sept. 14, the food pantry will be open from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

This semester the food pantry will be open from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursdays and 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturdays except for Saturdays the when the WIU football team plays at home, when hours will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The WIU Food Pantry is located in the former ticket booth near Q-Lot, adjoining Hanson Field.

Food is available to individuals with a valid WIU ID. No proof of income is needed in order to receive food items.

The pantry is always looking for student volunteers and donations.

Monetary and food donations are accepted. Each dollar donated will provide five meals to those in need.
