MACOMB, Ill. (NEWS3) — Macomb Police arrested two teens who were allegedly involved in an armed robbery at an apartment complex on the south end of the city.
Police said they received a call for an armed robbery at 1106 Madelyn Ave. on Tuesday just after 9 p.m.
Police said they searched the area and found the suspects in the 800 block of Bobby Ave. According to police, the teens matched the description of the two suspects connected to the armed robbery on Madelyn.
Officers said they were able to recover the victim’s cell phone taken during the robbery. The suspects also had a BB gun and masks, according to police.
Willie Hughes, 19, and a 17-year-old juvenile, both from Macomb, were both arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
Hughes was taken to the McDonough County Jail. The 17-year-old was taken to the Mary Davis Detention Facility in Galesburg.
