Women’s Soccer Draws with an Old Foe

MACOMB, IL (NEWS3)—The Western Illinois Leatherneck women’s soccer team is now 1-0-1 on the season after tying last night with the Jaguars of IUPUI.

Leatherneck goalkeeper, Ines Palmiero Herrera, was busy in between the posts for WIU. She stopped all six shots on goal in the contest.

No Leatherneck got a shot on goal, but Zoe Clark had the most chances at the net with four shots taken.

Western Illinois now sets their sights on the University of Missouri at Kansas City Roos, who are 3-0 on the season. The game takes place Sunday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m., on the ground of Durwood Stadium in Kansas City.
