Incident at a Moline construction site leaves one dead

MOLINE, Ill. (NEWS3) — Police are investigating an incident at a Moline construction site after the death of an East Moline construction worker.

On Friday, August 23, first respondents arrived at the scene of the construction site at 16th Street and 27th Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Police were told that the male worker was on foot when he was struck by a slow moving vehicle that was backing up into the construction area.

The worker was rushed by the Moline PD to Unity Point Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as 56 year-old Jackie Botkin.
