WESTERN ILLINOIS (NEWS3) – Severe storms are possible for much of western Illinois in the afternoon and evening hours on Wednesday.
It will starts off cooler earlier in the day on Wednesday before a warm front moves through around the noon hour. This will drive temperatures into the 70s for the afternoon.
This may help fuel some severe storms to develop.
The main threats with this system will be hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and the possibility of a few tornadoes.
Most of the severe storms will stay between he Quad Cities Metro and U.S. 34.
StormTeam3 has rated this storm as a Level 2 (of five) threat.
Several inches of rain are expected in some area, which will also prevent flooded rivers from receding.
