Cleaning on I-80 bridge in Quad Cities to shut down lanes

LeCLAIRE, Iowa (NEWS3) – Washing and cleaning on the I-80 bridge over the Mississippi River in the Quad Cities will force lane closures.

The Illinois Department of Transportation said work will begin on Wednesday, May 1. The project was suspended on May 1.

A $191,000 contract to clean and wash the structure will start in preparation for inspections.

Daytime lane closures for both eastbound and westbound lanes will occur; however, all lanes will be open between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and all lanes will stay open on Friday through Sunday.

Work is expected to take two weeks.
