Strong to severe storms possible Wednesday afternoon into evening

WESTERN ILLINOIS (NEWS3) – Strong to severe storms are possible Wednesday afternoon into the evening hours across eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

A warm front from the south, followed by a cold front, will help the storms gain strength.

The main threats this evening will be large hail and damaging winds; however, an isolated tornado may be possible, especially north of I-80 near the Quad Cities.

StormTeam3 has rated this system a Level 2 (out of 5) storm threat based on the large hail and damaging winds.

StormTeam3 will continue to track the system all day and will have the latest online and on social media platforms.
