Warmer weather to return, severe weather possible midweek

WESTERN ILLINOIS (NEWS3) – After a spectacular mid-April snowfall, warmer weather is expected to return this week.

Highs will reach the upper 50s on Monday, which will help melt the snow that fell Sunday morning.

The heaviest snow fell near Princeton, Illinois where 8 inches were measured.

By Tuesday, temperatures will soar into the 70s once again.

However, with the warmer weather comes another chance of strong to severe storms Wednesday  into Thursday morning.

Large hail and winds will be the primary threat. More heavy rains are likely, which will continue to slow the falling of flooded rivers.
