Strong to severe storms possible Thursday

WESTERN ILLINOIS (NEWS3) – Strong to severe storms may be possible across eastern Iowa and western Illinois Thursday afternoon into the evening hours.

A warm front will drive temperatures into the 70s, allowing for warmer air and moisture to strengthen storms.

The storms will begin spotty, but will become more solid as they move from the southwest.

Winds and hail will be the main concern.

As of 4:15 p.m., updated models showed that the greatest severe potential will remain south of U.S. 34.
