Man arrested after child falls out of moving vehicle in Quad Cities

BETTENDORF, Iowa (NEWS3) – One man was arrested after a child fell out of a moving vehicle in Bettendorf on Wednesday.

According to the Bettendorf Police Department, 31-year-old Wesley Hendley of Rock Island was arrested after his toddler fell out of the car near Middle Road and Devils Glen Road.

“An off-duty Bettendorf officer witnessed the event and called for on-duty officers for assistance,” Chief Keith Kimball wrote in a statement sent to NEWS3.

Hendley was arrested for Child Endangerment with Injury, Child Restraint, and a warrant out of Rock Island County.

The child was not in a car seat and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
