Construction work on U.S. 34 in Gulf Port will close lanes

GULF PORT, Illinois (NEWS3) – The Illinois Department of Transportation said construction work on U.S. 34 in Gulf Port will begin on April 1.

According to a release from the department, repairs to bridge joints at the U.S. 34 and Mellinger Avenue interchange will force the closure of lanes.

The project is expected to be completed in June.
