Bridge work in Galesburg to close ramps at I-74/ U.S. 34 interchange

GALESBURG, Illinois (NEWS3) – Work on an overpass near the I-74 and U.S. 34 expressway interchange will prompt the closure of some ramps.

Work on the bridge that carries Farnham Street over the U.S. 34 expressway will begin on April 1.

The bridge, located a half-mile west of the interchange, will close the ramps from I-74 to U.S. 34.

Motorists should expect delays and detours will be posted.

The project involves straightening and replacing steel girders on the bridge.

Work is expected to be completed in May.
