Another winter storm will move through western Illinois Tuesday into Wednesday

WESTERN ILLINOIS (NEWS3) – Another winter storm will move through the area late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The system is expected to reach western Illinois between 7 and 10 p.m. Tuesday and will work its way northeast.

The storm will begin as a wintry mix, with up to 1/10 of an inch of ice possible, before switching to snow. Snowfall totals are expected to be 1-3 inches; however, according to the National Weather Service, up to 5 inches of snow is possible.

Expect delays on the Wednesday morning commute with blowing and drifting snow possible.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect for all of western Illinois from 9 p.m. Tuesday until 3 p.m. Wednesday.
