Snow causes poor road conditions between Galesburg and Quad Cities, traffic clobbered

QUAD CITIES (NEWS3) – As snow falls across western Illinois along and north of U.S. 34, poor road conditions have clobbered traffic.

I-74 between Galesburg and the Quad Cities is moving at 50 m.p.h or less with conditions worsening farther north, taking between 45 minutes to an hour to travel.

On U.S. 67 between Monmouth and the Quad Cities, it could take up to an hour.

In the Quad Cities, there are extreme delays on most major roadways including I-74, I-80, I-280, and I-88.

Western Illinois could see between a dusting to two inches, with more snow possible north of U.S. 34.
