Thousands of Ameren customers without power in Illinois

WESTERN ILLINOIS (NEWS3) — As dangerous temperatures and life-threatening wind chills sweep through Illinois, thousands of Ameren customers are without power.

As of 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, 515 customers in western Illinois were without power.

In the Peoria metro area, 809 were without power.

17 customers were without power near Springfield, Wednesday morning, while 3,365 residents were without power in southern Illinois.

“Crews continue to battle subzero temperatures to restore power as quickly and safely as possible,” a social media post from Ameren reads.
