One dead, four injured in car accident south of Bushnell

BUSHNELL, Illinois (NEWS3) – One person is dead and four others are injured following a vehicle accident on Tuesday.

The accident shutdown Illinois 41 between Illinois 9 and Illinois 95, south of Bushnell, for several hours.

Dallas Campbell, 74, of Bushnell was travelling on the southbound Illinois 41 when he lost control and hit a northbound vehicle, driven by Steven Palmer, 65, of Bardolph.

Campbell and passenger Ray Etter, 86, of Bushnell were both ejected from the vehicle. Etter was pronounced dead the scene and Campbell was transported to McDonough District Hospital.

Palmer was airlifted to Peoria and two other passengers of the northbound vehicle were transported to McDonough District Hospital.
