Hazardous conditions on I-74 near U.S. 34 in Galesburg

GALESBURG, Illinois (NEWS3) — Hazardous road conditions are being reported along I-74, north of  Galesburg.

NEWS3’s Andrew Ball reports Illinois State Police on scene of a car in the ditch on the I-74 east (south) bound.

ISP was also at another incident involving as many as three cars and a jack-knifed semi in the center ditch, as well as an SUV with an overturned U-Haul trailer in the west (north) bound ditch.

Another vehicle was also seen later in the west bound ditch.

Winds are causing preexisting snow to blow across roadways as a wintry mix falls in some areas.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday as freezing rain snow is expected.
