Train carrying flammable materials derails near Adair

ADAIR, Illinois (NEWS3) – A train carrying flammable materials derailed near Adair Sunday evening.

According to the Illinois State Police, the train was carrying isopropyl alcohol, a highly flammable material in the presence of heat or fire.

U.S. 136 remains shutdown between N950 and N2250 south of Adair.

Both box cars and tankers have derailed.
