Boil order lifted in Monmouth following water main break

According to the city’s Facebook page, the boil order has been lifted.

MONMOUTH, Illinois — A water main break on Monmouth’s north side has forced a boil order for the entire city.

According to the city’s Facebook page, crews are currently working to repair the break near East Euclid Avenue and North 5th Street.

When the repair is made, a pressurized sample will be taken and tested to determine lifting the boil order.

The city expects the boil order to remain in effect for at least 24 hours.
